Chris has a built-in support system with his mother and daughter, who also have hemophilia A.
“Now, with a once-a-week infusion schedule, I feel like I have more control over my hemophilia.”

Meet Chris

“Growing up with hemophilia, my parents were worried about me, but they also wanted me to do what any other boy my age was doing. I tried a lot of sports, and my sister introduced me to bowling—which has turned into a career and passion for me. Looking back on my teenage years, I started treating prophylactically and learned to self-infuse—although it took me a while to take my prophylaxis treatment as seriously as I needed to.

As my family has grown over the years and diagnostic practices have improved, I’ve discovered that nearly everyone in my immediate family has hemophilia. My mother, my daughter, and I live together and we’re all on prophy treatment. We all see the same hematologist, and it was at my mother’s appointment that our doctor first told me ALTUVIIIO might be a good fit for me. We talked about how ALTUVIIIO works and the most common side effects. When I heard about its once-weekly prophylaxis schedule, I thought, ‘Yeah. That’s a good reason to switch.’

Now, with a once-a-week infusion schedule, I feel like I have more control over my hemophilia. I have always tried to maintain a positive attitude, which my parents instilled in me when I was growing up and I am now trying to pass on to my daughter. With ALTUVIIIO, which allows me to infuse just once a week, it isn’t hard to stay positive.”
