“I was diagnosed with hemophilia A at just 3 months old. Throughout my childhood, I longed to be a kid and take the stairs 2 (or even 3) at a time- an activity others didn't have to think twice about. But frequent ankle bleeds led me to walk with a cane at just 14 years old.
In college, I decided to pursue my passion for opera performance. Performing on stage is physically demanding. Because of the high-risk activities I engaged in, I was required to infuse multiple times a week.
After hearing about once-weekly ALTUVIIIO, I immediately asked my doctor about switching treatment. I was excited to learn that ALTUVIIIO prophylaxis was shown to have higher-for-longer factor levels in the near-normal to normal range (over 40%) for most of the week and a 48-hour half-life in adults-which meant I'd have to infuse only once a week.
