Real ALTUVIIIO caregiver Ashley and her son/real ALTUVIIIO patient Harrison
“Being a hemophilia mom has helped me become the strong advocate that I am today to make sure that my boys are getting the care they need and deserve.”

Meet Ashley and Harrison

“When I first found out I was pregnant, of course I was excited, but I was also a little scared because there was a high possibility of my son having hemophilia because it runs in my family. My 7-year-old Liam doesn’t, but both my 5-year-old Harrison and 2-year-old Maverick have severe hemophilia A.

It can get a little hectic keeping up with 3 kids and all their needs, especially when you add on managing treatment plans and infusion schedules for the 2 younger boys. Being a hemophilia mom has helped me become the strong advocate that I am today to make sure that my boys are getting the care they need and deserve.

When choosing a treatment option for Harrison, we wanted to limit how frequently he was getting hurt without stopping him from being the funny, sweet kid who loves to sing and play T-ball.

I first heard about ALTUVIIIO at a conference. At the time, Harrison was treating with prophylaxis 3 times a week and supplementing with factor for breakthrough bleeds. We had a detailed conversation with his hematologist about the benefits of ALTUVIIIO and how it works, as well as the most common side effects. I was interested in switching Harrison to ALTUVIIIO mainly because of the longer half-life and proven bleed protection with fewer infusions.

ALTUVIIIO, with its once-weekly dosing and track record of effective bleed protection, is the right fit for Harrison and our family. Since starting ALTUVIIIO in 2023, he hasn’t had any breakthrough bleeding—which has been amazing. Now, I’m able to send Harrison off to school knowing that he is better protected.”
